Nine months after the Curley Center reopened following a $31.2 million renovation, it had to close due to a clogged drain combined with heavy rain from Thursday.
The valuable piece of state-owned land on D and E Streets in South Boston, which was taken through eminent domain, has been embroiled in scandal for over a year. The controversy began last February when South Boston officials intervened to prevent the authority from moving forward with development under false pretenses.
