The United Nations Security Council on Friday said no to a U.S.-supported proposal that asked for a quick truce in Gaza and the freeing of all captives held by Hamas, because Russia and China opposed it. The resolution got 11 yes votes, three no votes, and one abstention. The resolution was rejected in the end.
