Releasing on Tuesdays, Immigration Nation is a Metro.co.uk series exploring the stories of people who have moved to the UK – including many who’ve made a difference in doing so. In a world seemingly divided by us vs them, it seeks to remove the stigma surrounding migrants, immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers by sharing their powerful first-person stories.
My closest companion was killed while participating in a demonstration against the government, at the age of 17. I was protesting in his honor when I was struck by a vehicle.
