Known as the ‘flag carrier’ airline for the United Kingdom, BA can trace its origins back over 100 years. Originally a state-owned entity, the company saw its privatisation completed in 1987. Presently, the airline employs over 30,000 staff and flies to more than 200 destinations in 80 countries.
The event is believed to be one of the nearest near misses ever between a BA plane and a drone.
It comes amid a spate of staffing controversies at the airline.

It comes after another pilot at the airline was terminated in September for using cocaine off of a partially nude woman just before he was scheduled to fly back to the UK.
