A group of downtown residents is urging the Boston City Council to reject a mayoral ordinance that would restructure the city’s planning department.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and the city’s two largest non-military unions signed a four-year deal on Thursday that deliberately gives larger raises to the lowest-paid city workers.
A Boston city councilor, supported by the mayor in the recent election, called off a hearing that he was leading on a proposal from two colleagues to broaden a mayoral initiative that eliminates museum fees for BPS students to encompass all schoolchildren.
“We all agree: We want the outdoor dining spaces to return. It’s something that is necessary,” a North End restaurant employee said to the Herald as the neighborhood deals with restricted outdoor dining for the second year in a row.
North End restaurateurs are accusing Mayor Michelle Wu of showing them no love by using funds they paid to provide outdoor dining in 2022 to purchase an electric street sweeper.
