The first photo of Kate, the Princess of Wales, since her abdominal surgery nearly two months ago was released Sunday after weeks of speculation about her whereabouts. However, the photo was later taken down by The Associated Press and other news agencies because it seemed to be altered, leading to more speculation. The photo of her sitting in a chair with her three children around her was attributed to her husband, William, Prince of Wales and heir to the throne, and was said to be taken earlier in the week in Windsor. AP initially published the photo but later retracted it because it seemed the source had altered the image in a way that did not meet AP’s photo standards.
The 18-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene near Cubley in Derbyshire.
It is the first time she has spoken publicly since her abdominal operation.
