Stafford, an astronaut who led a practice flight for the 1969 moon landing and the first U.S.-Soviet space linkup, passed away on Monday at the age of 93. Stafford, a retired three-star general in the Air Force, participated in four space missions. Before Apollo 10, he was on two other flights.
