In southern Finland, a 12-year-old student shot and killed one person while seriously injuring two others at a secondary school. Police reported that they later apprehended the suspect. The lower secondary school in Vantaa, near Helsinki, with around 800 students, was cordoned off by heavily armed police on Tuesday morning. Both the suspect and the victims were 12 years old. The suspect was captured in the Helsinki area later on Tuesday and was found with a handgun. The handgun used in the shooting was legally registered to a relative of the suspect. The minimum age for criminal responsibility in Finland is 15 years, so the suspect cannot be formally arrested.
