The ad depicts a hydraulic press crushing nearly every creative tool artists and consumers have used over the years — from a piano and record player, to piles of paint, books, cameras, and relics of arcade games. The result of the destruction? A flawless new iPad Pro. Apple’s intention appears to be clear: Highlight all the capabilities of this new product. However, critics have called it insensitive — with experts pointing out that the campaign’s execution failed to have the desired effect, showing instruments and tools loved by many being cruelly destroyed by technology.
