Big earthquakes that many people can feel don't happen often on the East Coast. Since 1950, the United States Geological Survey says there have been around 20 quakes with a magnitude greater than 4.5, while there have been over 1,000 on the West Coast. On Friday, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake happened near Lebanon, New Jersey, shaking people as far as Baltimore and the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border. There have been no reports of serious injuries or major damage.
