The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) is waiting for a response from Nok Air, a local airline, because some passengers complained about flight delays. The passengers were stuck on the plane for hours without air conditioning. The delayed flights were from Bangkok to Hat Yai and from Bangkok to Phuket on Saturday.
One passenger said on social media that he was on a flight from Bangkok to Hat Yai, but the plane was stuck on the runway because the engine wouldn't start. The air-conditioning didn't work either, so they were drenched in sweat, like they had been sprayed with water during Songkran.
Later, the passengers were allowed to get off the plane and were given a doughnut and a small bottle of water. They were told to get back on the same plane, with the captain saying it was safe. Many passengers objected, saying they wouldn't fly on that plane. Eventually, Nok Air found another plane for the passengers, which left Don Mueang airport at 6:05pm instead of the scheduled 1:20pm.
A passenger on the flight to Phuket also complained about being stuck on the runway for hours without air conditioning.
He said he was very frustrated with the flight delay because he felt sorry for his parents and 5-year-old nephew who were with him. He added that the flight was supposed to arrive in Phuket at 8pm but ended up getting there at about 1am the following morning.
