Firefighters are still having difficulty controlling the fire, nearly 12 hours after it started at a paper factory in Samut Sakhon.
The factory, owned by the Hiang Seng Fibre Container company (Panjapol Fibre Containers), covers an area of about 4.8 hectares.
The fire began around 9:30 am on Saturday morning (May 4) in a warehouse where compressed paper blocks for recycling are kept.
This evening, the governor of Samut Sakhon declared a disaster area in Moo 1 and Moo 4 in Tambon Bankoh.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
On April 30th, a fire erupted at another paper factory in Tambon Nakhok in Samut Sakhon province, and it took over 15 hours to put out.
