Steve Bannon, who was in charge of President Trump's 2016 campaign, strongly criticized House Republicans on Monday. He stated that they wish to see the former president lose his 2024 White House bid and want the 'Make America Great Again' (MAGA) movement to disappear.
“Why doesn't Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) have a criminal conspiracy investigation by Fani Willis in Georgia or 'Big Tish James' in New York City?” Bannon inquired during his conversation. “The Justice Department, why haven't they been instructed to 'Preserve your documents.' Why haven't hearings taken place? Why haven't they resolved these issues? You know why. Because they don't actually have Trump's support,” Bannon continued. “War Room” podcast.

Bannon's remarks come as there is growing criticism of Republican leadership, with several lawmakers calling for the removal of Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).

Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is leading an effort to depose the speaker, joined Bannon on the show to discuss Johnson's dwindling popularity among supporters of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement following the approval of a foreign aid bill that includes support for Ukraine. “[Johnson] betrayed everyone, betrayed the entire Republican party, betrayed Republican voters, betrayed the Republican conference,” she said. “And voters are so angry this time.” Bannon supported the Georgia Republican's demands, stating, “Johnson has to go.”
