Pennridge 10, Perkiomen Valley 8 >> Ryan Carickhoff scored five goals and helped with one as Pennridge used a strong third quarter to secure a non-league victory over visiting Perkiomen Valley Saturday.
Levi Souder got two goals and helped with one, Matt Seiler added two goals while goalie Tyler Vandermark made 16 saves for the Rams (10-2, 4-0 SOL National), who led 6-5 before outscoring the Vikings 4-1 in the third.
Andrew Horensky provided two assists, Matt Kriney had a goal and an assist with Frank Fanelli and Cooper States both providing an assist.
James Herb scored three goals for Perkiomen Valley while Jacob Rotay scored twice. Jackson Baker, Luke Hanlon and Bryce Coletta each had a goal with Patrick Molonoy providing an assist.
Souderton 11, Owen J. Roberts 4 >> John Martin Vince got five goals, one assist and two ground balls as Souderton pulled away in the third quarter to secure its seventh straight victory.
Seth Grossman got three goals, one assist, five ground balls and two caused turnovers while Brody Anderson had two goals, one assist and two ground balls for the Indians (9-2, 6-0 SOL National), who led 6-3 at halftime then outscored OJR 4-0 in the third.
Gavin Landis provided two assists and a ground ball, Jaden Knize had a goal, Trey Bui added a goal and an assist with goalkeeper Matt Malanga making 12 saves.
Upper Merion 11, West Chester East 10 >> Collin McCormick got three goals and helped with one while Kevin Roseland recorded a goal and three assists as Upper Merion erased a two-goal deficit by outscoring West Chester East 5-2 in the fourth quarter to win the non-league contest.
Justin Besz scored three goals, Kieran Laney contributed two goals and one assist while Ryan Becker had a goal, an assist and won 18 of 24 faceoffs for UM. Ian Montgomery added a goal, Noah Canale provided an assist and goalie Nathan Uhl made eight saves.
Girls Lacrosse
Archbishop Carroll 14, Penncrest 8 >> Sam Hewitt scored three goals and helped with four assists, Chloe Bleckley finished with 3 goals, two assists and three draw controls as Archbishop Carroll built a 9-4 halftime lead and went on to secure a non-league victory.
Claire Sexton chipped in a goal and three assists, Maggie O’Neill scored three times and Katie O’Neill had two goals and one assist for the Patriots (9-1, 4-0 PCL). Sienna Golden collected eight draw controls, Morgan Wood had a goal and two draw controls with Greta Potten adding a goal. Carroll goalie Mei Rader made eight saves.
Kate Stanton’s four goals led Penncrest while Adilyn Benhardt scored twice. Caitlain Roht and Lylah Pompetti each had a goal with goalie Reese Wickman posting seven saves.
Upper Dublin 14, Harriton 5 >> Bridget DiMartile got four goals, three assists, six draw controls and three caused turnovers as Upper Dublin raced out to a 12- 1 halftime lead and stayed undefeated with a non-league win Friday.
Anna DiMartile finished with four goals, one assist and three caused turnovers for the Cardinals (10-0, 4-0 SOL American). Paige Dinkel and Maeve Hogan both scored twice, Lily Buckius registered a goal and assist, Shannon Connaughton had a goal and Ava Shohen collected two assists and three draw controls. Goalkeeper Erin Darcy made two saves.
Sayde Timmons scored five goals for Harriton, and Shannon Gabor added one goal.
Softball
Souderton 12, Central Bucks East 2 (6) >> Kiera Fadden hit a three-run home run in the first inning, Ava Detwiler hit a two-run homer in the third, and Makayla Mihelcic had a solo homer in the fourth as Souderton won a six-inning SOL Colonial victory on Saturday.
Kathryn Jones went 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, and scored four runs for the Indians (7-4, 4-4 SOL Colonial). Detwiler finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored, and also got the pitching win, allowing two hits in five scoreless innings with a walk and six strikeouts.
Camryn Nadolski went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored two runs as Souderton took an 8-0 lead by scoring four in the first, two in the third, and one run each in the fourth and fifth. East got two runs in the sixth, but the Indians responded with four in the bottom of the frame – McKenna Schroding hitting a walk-off RBI single.
Central Bucks South 15, Archbishop Wood 0 (4) >> Central Bucks South scored six runs in the first inning, added six more in the second, and won a four-inning non-league game.
Stephanie Benzlowicz went 2-for-2 with a triple, three RBIs, and scored two runs for the Titans, while Ella Wheeler went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs. Maura Fleming finished 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs, with Hollie Schaub having two RBIs and two runs.
Upper Dublin 4, Mount St. Joseph 2 (8) >> Bella Fiore hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning, and Upper Dublin held on for a non-league win on Friday.
Mount St. Joseph took a 1-0 lead in the fourth before the Cardinals tied the game in the seventh on a Jolie Sheppard RBI – the Magic threw a runner out at home on the play to keep it 1-1.
In the bottom of the seventh, Mount had runners at the corners but UD pitcher Kyla Garrison got a strikeout and an infield pop-up to send the game to extra innings.
Vivian Moore led off the bottom of the eighth with a home run to make it 4-2. Mount had two on after a Jewel Schaefer two-out double and a Kayla Funk walk, but a groundout gave the Cardinals the win.
Both starting pitchers completed the games. Garrison got the win, allowing two runs – one earned – on four hits, walking six and striking out 10. Mount’s Daria Yohe took the loss, giving up four runs – three earned – on six hits, walking three and striking out two.
Gwynedd Mercy 3, Lower Moreland 2 >> Gwynedd Mercy came from behind for a non-league win on Friday by scoring twice in the sixth inning on a Natalie Kelley RBI double and Emma Lomker’s two-out RBI single.
The Monarchs took a 1-0 lead in the first before Lower Moreland scored its two runs in the bottom of the inning.
Pope John Paul II 7, Upper Perkiomen 6 >> Sophia Benincasa went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs, while Rylee Derecola made a diving catch in left center with two out and two on in the sixth inning to help Pope John Paul II win the PAC Frontier Division game on Friday.
Abby Simmers went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored a run for the Golden Panthers, who led 4-1 after two runs in the fifth inning. Upper Perk scored four runs in its half of the fifth to go up 5-4, but PJP II responded with three in the top of the fifth for a 7-5 lead.
UP scored one run in the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly and a single that put the tying run on base, but the next batter grounded out, giving PJP II the win.
William Tennent won against Villa Joseph Marie with a score of 10-4. William Tennent turned around a 4-1 disadvantage by scoring nine runs in the top of the fourth inning to win Friday’s non-league game.
Sydney Teufel achieved a 3-for-4 performance with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs for the Panthers. Rylie O’Toole batted 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, while Jamie Green and Sammi Wood both contributed with two RBIs.
Katie LaPlaunt of Tennent struck out 13 batters in a complete-game victory, allowing four runs – all earned – on six hits and two walks.
Baseball
Pittston defeated La Salle with a score of 8-2. Pittston scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 7-0 lead and handed host La Salle a non-league defeat on Saturday.
Matt Mullin went 2-for-3 for the Explorers, while Frank Provenzano went 2-for-4.
Upper Dublin secured a 4-0 victory against Souderton. Upper Dublin took a 2-0 lead with two runs in the top of the fourth and then increased its lead in the sixth inning with Eric Berman’s two-RBI double in a SOL non-conference win on Friday.
Wesley Gill, Jack Brannigan and Evan Sanders combined to pitch a shutout for the Cardinals (7-2, 5-1 SOL Liberty), who secured their fourth consecutive win. Souderton's record dropped to 3-7 (2-5 SOL Colonial).
Pennridge won against Quakertown with a score of 6-5. Connor Murray of Pennridge went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored as the Rams took a 6-1 lead and held on for a SOL non-conference win.
Noah Keating scored two runs for Pennridge (5-3, 3-3 SOL Colonial), who grabbed a 4-1 lead with a three-run top of the fourth, and then added two more in the fifth.
Quakertown (7-4, 6-2 SOL Liberty) scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth, and cut the lead to 6-5 in the sixth with Cooper Natisin’s two-RBI triple. The Panthers loaded the bases later in the inning but could not score another run.
Natisin batted 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Matt Marsten batted 2-for-2 with a double, RBI and two runs, while Dan Qualteria scored two runs for Quakertown.
Central Bucks East won against Truman with a score of 11-3. Nolan Behm achieved five RBIs – including three on a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh – as he finished 3-for-5 in Central Bucks East’s SOL crossover victory on Friday.
Jack Mislan hit a three-run homer in the fourth as the Patriots (8-2, 7-0 SOL Colonial) scored four runs in the inning, and then added two in both the fifth and sixth innings to take an 8-0 lead.
Chase Fulford went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for East, who have won seven consecutive games. Reece Moody went 2-for-3 with a double and run scored, Anthony Niro was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, while Chase Harlan hit a double and scored twice.
Charlie Carney went 2-for-2 with a run scored for Truman.
La Salle defeated La Salle Academy (R.I.) with a score of 6-4. La Salle broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the fifth with two runs on a Luke Borgmann RBI double and Matt Mullin’s RBI sacrifice fly to secure a non-league win over Rhode Island’s La Salle Academy.
Borgmann batted 2-for-3 with an RBI, Caden Schmidt batted 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run, David Vozzo batted 2-for-3 with an RBI and run, and Matt Gannon went 2-for-4 for the Explorers.
Devon Prep 10, Dock Mennonite 2 >> Dock Mennonite’s Brayden Kratz went 2-for-4 with a triple and scored a run as the Pioneers lost in Friday’s non-league game.
Devon Prep was ahead 4-0 after five innings. Dock narrowed it to 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth when Ethan Kratz scored on a wild pitch, but then Devon Prep scored six runs in the top of the seventh. Deven Ross got an RBI single for Dock in the bottom of the seventh.
Faith Christian 15, Church Farm School 0 (3) >> Jagger Verbit had a 2-for-3 performance with a double, four RBIs and two runs as Faith Christian took an 8-0 lead in the bottom of the first, then scored seven in the third on Friday.
Grayson Weikel hit a three-run home run in the third for the Lions.
Boys Volleyball
Parkland 3, Pennridge 0 >> Defending PIAA-3A champion Parkland gave Pennridge its first loss on Friday, sweeping the Rams 25-21, 25-16, 25-21.
Evan Jalosinski provided 20 assists, six digs and two blocks, while Bryce Ammon contributed 14 kills, seven digs and three blocks for Pennridge (9-1, 8-0 SOL American).
Logan Jalosinksi finished with nine kills, five digs, four aces, Chris Cullen had three kills and three blocks, Tyler Smith contributed two kills, five digs and four assists with Ethan Vo collecting seven digs.
Unionville 3, Souderton 2 >> Derek Stefanowicz registered 24 kills, six digs and two blocks, while Everett Self ended with 10 kills and 13 digs as Souderton lost in five sets in Friday’s non-league match.
Kelly Kim racked up 39 assists and six digs for the Indians (5-7, 3-4 SOL American) with Colton Musselman recording three kills, seven digs and three blocks.
