The latest survey indicates that Vice President Harris is nearly as well-liked as Beyoncé.
The April survey by Echelon Insights revealed that 43 percent of people have a positive view of Harris, while 45 percent have a positive view of Beyoncé.
Almost 2 in 5 respondents — 19 percent — had a “very favorable” view of Harris, who is seeking reelection alongside President Biden. In comparison, 17 percent had a “very favorable” view of the singer. More of those polled had a “somewhat favorable” view of Beyoncé than Harris.
More respondents had heard of the singer but had no opinion, while opinions of Harris were more divided. Twice as many people held unfavorable views of the current vice president compared to the singer, who recently released a popular country music album.
Fifty-three percent of all respondents had an unfavorable view of the vice president, while just 26 percent had an unfavorable view of Beyoncé.
The survey also found that Harris, the first female vice president, was more popular among women and particularly popular with respondents of color. Sixty-one percent of Black respondents had a favorable view of her, as did 45 percent of Hispanics. About one-third of white respondents — 35 percent — had the same opinion.
Harris was least popular with younger respondents, scoring only 23 percent favorability among those aged 18 to 29. She was most popular with respondents 40 to 49 years old and those older than 65.
The Echelon Insights poll was conducted among 1,020 respondents April 12-14 and had a margin of error of 3.9 percentage points.
