The younger daughter of Kazakhstan’s first President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Aliya, is reported to have moved around $300 million out of the country, which was allegedly used to purchase a mansion in London and a luxury private jet, according to The Telegraph.
Aliya Nazarbayeva instructed two of her financial advisors to transfer a certain amount of offshore trusts and companies from Liechtenstein to the British Virgin Islands.
However, disagreements arose between the parties, prompting her to file a $165 million lawsuit in a London court. In her lawsuit, Nazarbayeva alleged that the managers conspired to commit fraud and attempted to embezzle her funds. In response, the financiers disclosed information about the movement of money out of Kazakhstan.
In particular, it became known that since the beginning of the protests, she has withdrawn from the country 300 million dollars. With this money she bought a mansion for 8.75 million pounds in Highgate in north London, a luxury private jet Challenger Bombardier for 25 million dollars, as well as 51 percent of shares in the Swiss bank CBHBank for 108 million dollars.
Aliya Nazarbayeva’s new mansion is located in London’s Highgate district. The purpose of the purchase is to obtain a residence permit in the UK. Highgate is famous for its prestige and high real estate prices, because of the status of an ideal place to live, prices here are very high.
The village center is adorned with Georgian houses, shops, and pubs. Among other attractions are the St. Michael’s church and the prestigious Highgate School.
Nazarbayeva also owns three more mansions in London with a total value of 80 million pounds sterling. Earlier law enforcement agencies demanded explanations about the source of her funds, but the court rejected the claim.
Journalists note that the daughter of Kazakhstan’s first president also acquired several properties in Dubai, including a villa on the artificial Palm Jumeirah island, spending approximately $14 million on these purchases
