It concluded with Bridget finally finding happiness by marrying Mark, after having a baby boy with him.
Hugh did not appear throughout the sequel, with his character assumed dead after a plane crash, but a newspaper report at the very end of the film confirmed he is alive and well, setting up the upcoming movie perfectly.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is scheduled to be released in cinemas and on Peacock on February 14, 2025.
