People who travel by train have been told to expect severe delays for their journey because a train has derailed in London.
A cargo train has derailed near West Ealing, west London, and is causing disruption during rush hour between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport and Reading.
Some trains might be canceled or run up to 40 minutes late, National Rail stated that there will be delays until midday.
Elizabeth Line, Great Western Railway, and Heathrow Express trains are affected.
Elizabeth Line
Elizabeth Line between Abbey Wood and Heathrow Terminal 4, Maidenhead and Reading is affected as well as the route between London Paddington and Reading, and Shenfield and Heathrow Terminal 5.
Tickets for travel are valid on Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Reading, Heathrow Express, London Underground, buses, and South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Reading.
Great Western Railway
Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Didcot Parkway, Oxford, Great Malvern, Hereford, Cardiff Central, Swansea, Carmarthen, Weston-super-Mare, Bristol Temple Meads, Newbury, Westbury, Frome, Taunton, Exeter St Davids, Paignton, Plymouth and Penzance is affected.
Riders can use Chiltern Railways between London Marylebone and Oxford or Banbury without paying extra, according to National Rail.
Tickets are also accepted on Elizabeth Line, South Western Railway, and London Underground between Paddington, Marylebone, and Waterloo stations.
People traveling to Slough, Maidenhead, or Twyford should use Elizabeth Line.
Passengers were advised to use Great Western high-speed services between London Paddington and Reading to finish their trips.
Stopping services between Didcot Parkway and London Paddington will only run between Didcot and Reading, while services between Bedwyn and Newbury and London Paddington will only operate between Bedwyn/Newbury and Reading.
Some travelers may be eligible for compensation from their train company.
It is worth checking with individual companies if they provide Delay Repay or delay compensation.
According to the law, passengers can get back 50% of the ticket price if they arrive at their destination between 30 minutes and an hour late, and a full refund for being more than an hour late.
Heathrow Express
Passengers will experience delays between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 5 until about 12 noon today.
