Donald Trump said he would make the November elections into a “Christian Visibility Day” in direct response to the Trans Day of Visibility.
Trump expressed his anger at a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, about Biden declaring Easter Sunday as trans visibility day. He called it disrespectful to Christians.
On November 5, which is election day, Trump said it would be called Christian Visibility Day, implying that Christians should vote for him because Transgender Day of Visibility coincided with Easter this year.
The right wing was upset that Transgender Day of Visibility fell on Western Christianity’s Easter day this past Sunday. Many blamed President Joe Biden, although it's unclear why the coincidence is disrespectful to Christians, considering many transgender people are themselves Christian.
The White House stated that President Biden stands for unity and upholding the dignity and freedoms of every American, as he celebrates Easter with family and supports trans rights. The statement criticized politicians for using divisive and hateful rhetoric.
Axios notes Trump has been working to gain more support from religious voters. He recently began selling Bibles for $60..
He said at the rally, “We must make America pray again.”
