Let’s be honest, there’s very little that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson can’t do, but he has left fans truly puzzled by one of his recent ventures.
The WWE star recently introduced his own men’s skin care line, Papatui, at Target last month.
The 51-year-old surprised people with a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner product, which has a very unique tagline.
Although the products, priced at $7.99, have received great reviews from happy customers, many on social media have wondered why he chose to enter the haircare business as a bald man.
The Fast and Furious star seemingly anticipated some confusion and jokingly addressed the criticism in the slogan, simply saying: ‘My hair would’ve loved this 2-1 shampoo and conditioner.’
Honestly, we’d buy it just for that reason.
TikTok user Freakinfriction didn’t quite have the same reaction, as they expressed their confusion in a video from the aisles of Target.
‘This man has no business in the shampoo department and here he is advertising his Papatui,’ they said, as their friend questioned: ‘Do I trust the Rock to know what’s best for my hat hair?’
They weren’t the only ones who had questions for Dwayne’s product line, as TikToker SarahGrayAndTall said in a separate video: ‘What is happening? I was just minding my own business perusing the aisles of Target when I happened on Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson’s two-in-one shampoo.
‘I’m sorry, I’m not going to buy shampoo and conditioner from a hairless man.’
Followers were enjoying the videos and couldn’t help but praise Dwayne’s efforts in the comments below, applauding the slogan.
LaurenElizabeth5334 replied: ‘I would buy it just because of the slogan, that’s hilarious.’
Silverist agreed: ‘OMG this is the craziest celeb launch of all time! I cannot believe that tagline!!’
CoralCanvas joked: ‘I’m bald and confused, like do I get this or is it not for me? So many questions.’
As many more praised his ‘hustle’.
Not quite content with his status as blockbuster legend, superhero, former Sexiest Man Alive title-holder and tequila businessman, Dwayne ventured into the skincare industry last month.
Papatui appeared in Target stores across the US on March 10, with a range of skin, hair, body and tattoo care products priced under $10.
Discussing the products in a chat with People Magazine, he explained: ‘Papatui has allowed me to encourage just a more open, greater conversation about skincare and grooming.
‘Like so many of us, I had a great curiosity. I’m always experimenting – how can I improve my skincare and my grooming? And with that daily intention.
‘I saw an opportunity here to create a product with great quality but also great accessibility in terms of cost. Let’s think about the consumer and let’s deliver quality at a very accessible price.’
