Lynn Loring, an actress who later became a producer in the soap opera industry, has passed away at the age of 80.
The actress, who was born in New York City on July 14, 1943, began her acting career in 1951, the same year she joined the soap opera Search for Tomorrow.
For ten years, Lynn played the character Patti Barron.

In 1983, Lynn, Aaron Spelling, and Lauren Shuler collaborated to produce the film Mr Mom. It featured Michael Keaton and Teri Gar and reportedly had a production cost of $5 million. It earned over $60 million, making it a major success that year.
During the 80s, Lynn also served as the president of MGM/US Television. During that period, she proposed the idea of turning the Oscar-winning drama In the Heat of the Night into a series.
