Officials report that a man was apprehended on Monday for trying to enter the FBI office in Atlanta by forcefully driving his vehicle into the gates of the building.
The individual, who was not linked to the FBI and has not been named, supposedly followed an employee to the facility, tried to get past security gates, and then rammed into them shortly after midday on Monday. He was promptly apprehended by nearby FBI agents, according to the agency.
The FBI stated that they do not know why he did this, and are collaborating with local police to bring criminal charges. As a precaution, a bomb squad inspected the vehicle, the agency mentioned.
The agency mentioned that he was taken to a local hospital for medical and psychological assessment.
