Boardwalk Empire Actor Michael Stuhlbarg sustained an injury after reportedly being attacked by a homeless man in New York City.
Stuhlbarg, 55, experienced a frightening ordeal near New York’s Central Park on Sunday night.
The actor was strolling when he was reportedly approached and assaulted by a homeless man armed with a large rock.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. near East 90th and East Drive in Manhattan.
The star was hit in the back of his neck with a rock allegedly wielded by Xavier Israel, 27.
After the assault, Stuhlbarg chased after his attacker, which led to Israel’s subsequent capture by nearby police, near the Russian consulate.
Israel, who is reportedly currently homeless, was promptly arrested and now faces charges of assault.
Significantly, Stuhlbarg chose not to seek medical attention for the wound.
Israel was previously apprehended in 2022 for two assaults and a robbery, according to reports.
Stuhlbarg is most famous for his portrayal of real-life gangster Arnold Rothstein in the acclaimed HBO series Boardwalk Empire.
Recently, he gained attention for his role as Richard Sackler in the Emmy-nominated series Dopesick, as well as for his performance as Mr. Perlman in the Oscar-nominated film Call Me by Your Name.
