Motherland fans are really mad after hearing that it has been canceled by the BBC.
The comedy series, starring Cunk On Earth’s Diane Morgan, followed the challenges and competition in the world of middle-class motherhood Sharon Horgan.
Written by , the series had three seasons and twospecials on BBC, first airing in 2016, and winning a Bafta for best scripted comedy in 2022. Christmas However, it’s now ending with Liz actress Diane revealing: ‘I hate to say it, because I still get women running up to me with prams in the street asking me when it’s coming back.’
She did however hint at a spin-off involving Lucy Punch’s character Amanda, saying
: ‘Yes. It’ll continue through her. The ladies with the prams will be pleased, hopefully.’ The TimesFans have been left devastated at the news, taking to X to share their anger.

‘They’ve cancelled Motherland?! The BBC really has lost the plot in so many ways,’ @frozenwarning wrote.
@Victoria_Vol added: ‘Not a good start to the Easter weekend to discover that @bbccomedy @bbc have axed the brilliant #Motherland. One of the best comedies of the past decade. Why oh why would someone deem this a good decision.’

Alison Hammond-starring I Can See Your Voice. David Jason’s Still Open All Hours has also been axed
gameshow Unbeatable, as has in recent months. Top Gear has also been taken off air after
Freddie Flintoff’s horror crash , while A Question of Sport – both of which star McGuinness – hascome to an end after 53 years. The BBC is not the only broadcaster to have made cuts recently – with ITV also
axing two celebrity-fronted gameshows popular comedy programmes, and The BBC declined to comment when approached by Metro.co.uk..
