The grieving family of a 9-year-old boy who died in a car crash in north Dorset has paid tribute to their 'little angel'.
Zac Roe, who lived in Andover, Hampshire, passed away at the scene in East Woodyates just before 5:30pm on Monday.
The collision on the A354 Salisbury Road involved a livestock transporter truck and trailer, a white Ford Transit van, and a grey Citroen car.
Zac’s father, Josh Roe, expressed in a statement: 'I cannot find the words to express the pain I'm experiencing, my heart is shattered. You are my little angel. I adore you more than anything in this world, you are my best buddy.'
Grandfather Chris Roe commented: 'Zac, there are simply no words. I just want to thank you for the wonderful and joyful memories we shared during your short life journey.
'You were taken too soon, but memories will stay with us forever. We will never stop adoring you. Your smile and laughter still resonate within my heart and everyone else's. Sweet dreams, our little angel.'
Dorset Police mentioned that the Citroen driver, a woman in her 30s, was initially detained on suspicion of murder but has since been released without charge.
The Hampshire resident was also apprehended on suspicion of a driving violation and has been released on bail as the authorities continue their inquiries.
Dorset Police’s Detective Chief Inspector Neil Third stated: 'Our thoughts continue to be with all those impacted by the tragic passing of Zac Roe.
'An investigation is ongoing with thorough inquiries being conducted to establish the complete circumstances of what occurred.'
