The Philadelphia Phillies were supposed to have their first home game at Citizens Bank Park against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday, but the game has been delayed to Friday, March 29 at 3:05 p.m. due to the weather forecast.
The Phillies declared the change on Wednesday.

Phillies Executive Vice President David Buck stated that the team talked with Major League Baseball and various weather services before making the decision. The National Weather Service predicts an 80% chance of rain on Thursday with a high temperature of 53 degrees.
“The open date on Friday allows us to reschedule the game,” he said in a statement released on Wednesday and in a post on X.
All tickets for Thursday’s sold-out game will be honored for Friday’s game. Pre-game events on the field are set to start at 2:20 p.m. and gates will open at 12:35 p.m.
The planned giveaway, a Phillies scarf from Nemours Children’s Health, will still be given to all fans.
