More Democrats worry about former President Trump winning a second term than Republicans worry about President Biden possibly serving a second term, as per a recent survey.
The survey revealed that 66 percent of Democrats are extremely worried about another Trump term in the White House, according to the findings from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs.
An additional 11 percent of Democrats expressed some worry, while 22 percent stated they were not very or not at all worried about a Trump victory.
In contrast, about 49 percent of Republicans indicated concern about Biden being reelected. Eighteen percent mentioned they were somewhat worried, and 32 percent stated they were not very or not at all worried.
Biden and Trump are heading towards a 2020 rematch next November as they clinched their respective parties’ nominations earlier this month. According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling average, Trump has a slight 1-point lead over Biden in national polling.
Most Republicans expressed either satisfaction or excitement about a potential second term for Trump, with 59 percent mentioning they are very satisfied and 54 percent stating they are very excited.
Democrats are less likely to say they are extremely excited for Biden’s potential reelection. Forty percent of Democrats mentioned they are very excited for Biden potentially being reelected, 30 percent indicated they are somewhat excited, and another 30 percent stated they are not or not very excited.
Half of Democrats mentioned they are very satisfied with another term for Biden, 31 percent stated they are somewhat satisfied, and 19 percent mentioned they are not very satisfied.
The survey was carried out from Thursday through Monday among 1,282 adults nationwide and has a margin of error of 3.8 percentage points.
