The cabinet has approved Bt2.95 billion for a free lunch program for the 2025 academic year. This will benefit 575,983 students attending 7,344 schools across the country.
Karom Pholpornklang, the deputy government spokesman, stated that the program will include 6,855 schools supervised by the Office of the Basic Education Commission, 376 under the Local Administration Department, 109 schools under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and four schools operated by the Border Patrol Police.
He mentioned that the annual budget of Bt2.95 billion will provide an average of Bt24 per day for lunch for the 200 days of the academic year.
