Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has a strong liking for Manchester United star Mason Greenwood, according to reports in Italy.
Greenwood, presently on a season-long loan at Spanish team Getafe, has drawn interest from some of the largest clubs in Europe, such as Barcelona.
Fellow La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing the Englishman but they are not prepared to meet United’s asking price of €60m.
It has been reported that Erik ten Hag is open to Greenwood returning to United this summer – but there has now been further interest – this time from Juventus.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus executive Giuntoli is fond of Greenwood for three reasons – the first being his evident high level of talent.
The second reason is that Greenwood is only 22 years old and the third is his current contract situation, with the forward seeing his present deal expire in 2025.
Greenwood joined Getafe on loan this summer after United concluded their internal probe into his actions off the pitch.
The Red Devils decided that Greenwood should restart his career elsewhere but new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has since opened the door for his return.
Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 for attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault but had all charges against him dropped in February 2023.
United had considered reintegrating Greenwood back into Ten Hag’s squad before the club received major backlash from supporters over his possible return.
