And it’s even cheaper if you’re looking for a solo escape, with one-bedroom cottages costing just £590.
Where to stay in Shropshire
Ludlow
A historic town which is home to Ludlow Castle, this hotspot dates all the way back to the 11th century.
Want to get active? Ludlow is an excellent place to explore on foot or by bike. Found on the outskirts of the Shropshire hills, it has the beautiful Ludlow Millenium Green to wander around or enjoy a picnic in.
Shrewsbury
The market town of Shrewsbury is home to over 600 listed buildings, including the Castle and the Abbey, so there’s plenty to see and do.
As well as markets full of independent sellers there are also many designer shops. You can also relax with a boat trip down the River Severn.
Craven Arms
This south Shropshire town is named after a 17th-century inn of the same name.
The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre is a must-visit where you can meet the legendary Shropshire Mammoth, whilst the town is also host to Stokesy Castle, which is often described as the finest and best-preserved fortified medieval manor house in England.

The outdoor sculpture park is hosting some of the best crafters and makers from both sides of the Shropshire-Wales border (which the venue sits on).

Egg Dancing at Blists Hills in The Ironbridge – March 23-April 4:
The immersive Victorian town will be hosting a traditional Victorian egg dance, where the aim is to dance among as many eggs as possible without breaking them.
Eggstraunauts at Enginuity in The Ironbridge – March 23-April 7:
Take up the challenge to craft a special spacecraft that will protect egghead crew Captain Eggbert and Lieutenant Scrambled Egg from ‘a messy end.’
This fun, family-friendly activity will take place each day until April 7 between 11am and 12pm and 2pm and 3pm.
How to reach Shropshire
The simplest way to reach Shropshire is by driving.
Because it's located in the Midlands, there's the M54 highway that links with the M6 which will take you north or south.
If you're coming from London, you can take the M1 and then the M6 to get on the M54. From Wales, it's the A5.
