Many missiles have hit Ukraine since the massacre at a Moscow concert hall last week, with one briefly entering Polish airspace.
A large number of missiles were launched in the early hours of this morning, marking the third major attack in the last four days.
This comes after over 130 people were killed at the Crocus City Hall music venue when gunmen broke in and fired at the audience watching a rock band, leaving the building in flames.
A group affiliated with the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the deadliest attack on Russian soil in years.
However, Vladimir Putin has attempted to connect the attack to Ukraine, stating that those responsible were caught fleeing south towards Kyiv.
Mr Putin’s assertion that the attackers tried to escape to Ukraine followed comments by Russian lawmakers who immediately blamed Ukraine after the attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky angrily denied Moscow’s accusations, stating: ‘They are burning our cities and they are trying to blame Ukraine.
‘They brought hundreds of thousands of their terrorists here to fight us on our Ukrainian soil, and they don’t care what happens inside their own country.
Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, stated that Russia used cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the latest missile attacks
An air alert in the capital lasted for more than two hours as rockets entered Kyiv in groups from the north.
Mr Popko stated the attacks were launched from the Engels district in the Saratov region of Russia.
Preliminary data indicates no casualties or damage in the capital, he added.
The operation command of Nato member Poland said in a statement there was a violation of its airspace at 3.23am by one of the cruise missiles launched by Russia.
The object entered near the Polish town of Oserdow and remained there for 39 seconds, the statement said.
It added that military radar systems observed the missile the entire time and all necessary procedures were launched to ensure the safety of Polish airspace.
