WWE During SmackDown on Friday night, LA Knight was arrested and taken away by the police.
The popular superstarhad a dramatic confrontation with AJ Styles this week after Styles didn't show up to the event, causing tension between the two.
During the latest SmackDown, the heavily muscled AJ Styles was seen at home talking about his upcoming match at WrestleMania 40. He made a remarkable physical transformation and was having an interview at home when he heard a car horn outside.
The 46-year-old wrestler rushed outside during the interview after hearing a car horn beeping repeatedly.
WWE’s cameras followed him outside where Knight, 41, began verbally attacking Styles and then physically attacking him.
The argument turned into a brawl and the footage was cut as commentators revealed they could access police videos from the scene.
The 'police' arrived and put Knight in handcuffs, and he promised to keep showing up as long as Styles kept avoiding him on SmackDown.
He even apologized as he was put into the car, acknowledging that the police would have their work cut out for them over the next couple of weeks before WrestleMania.
WWE announced that Styles won’t be ‘pressing charges’ and Knight has been released, leaving the door open for a similar segment next week.
This segment was shot in a more realistic way than usual, following a long line of similar storyline beats over the years, most recently when Dominik Mysterio was arrested for attacking his legendary dad Rey at his home on Christmas Eve 2022.
Knight and Styles have been enemies for months, and tensions escalated when Knight caused his rival to lose a title shot by attacking him last month.
A couple of weeks ago, Knight once again caused trouble for Styles, who is now seeking revenge.
Fans loved the latest twist in the story, with one writing: ‘LA Knight screaming YEAH! as he’s being arrested made this segment perfect for me and Styles saying he’s gonna end LA Knight career. That may be one of my favorite segments this year #Smackdown’
‘LA KNIGHT SHOWED UP AT AJ STYLES’ HOUSE AND GOT ARRESTED FOR ATTACKING HIM ON HIS OWN TURF! That’s wild,’ tweeted @JustAlyxCentral.
They added: ‘I love how WWE shot this, too. Big throwback to the days of home invasions and Stone Cold Steve Austin hunting his opponents outside the ring.’
But, some individuals were puzzled by the entire situation, with @thefw_ExConDom wondering: ‘Why is my timeline full of LA Knight getting arrested? #Smackdown’
WWE SmackDown is shown on Friday nights at 1am on TNT Sports 1.
