"I want to express my gratitude for all the supportive messages and for your understanding during my recovery from surgery.
"It has been a very challenging couple of months for our whole family, but I have received excellent care from my medical team, for which I am very thankful.
"In January, I had major abdominal surgery in London and at that time, it was believed that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests afterwards revealed the presence of cancer. As a result, my medical team recommended a course of preventative chemotherapy, which I am now undergoing.
"Naturally, this came as a massive shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to handle this privately for the sake of our young family.
"As you can imagine, this has taken time. I needed time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is suitable for them, and to reassure them that I will be okay.
"As I have conveyed to them; I am doing well and getting stronger each day by focusing on things that will help me heal; in my mind, body, and spirits.
"Having William at my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance. The love, support, and kindness shown by so many of you means a lot to us both.
"We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space, and privacy as I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me deep joy, and I am looking forward to returning when I am able, but for now, I must concentrate on making a full recovery.
"At this time, my thoughts are also with all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. To everyone facing this disease, in any form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.
