Ronna McDaniel, who used to lead the Republican National Committee (RNC), is going to be a contributor for NBC News.
McDaniel will be on “Meet The Press” this Sunday, in her first interview since leaving her RNC position earlier this year.
McDaniel is expected to be part of NBC's election coverage, as well as on the network’s sister cable channel, MSNBC.
Carrie Budoff Brown, the head of political coverage at NBC, said, “It couldn’t be a more important moment to have a voice like Ronna’s on the team.” wrote in a memo shared with The New York Times.
McDaniel became RNC chair with Trump’s support in 2017 and won reelection four times, but she has recently clashed with the former president, who is expected to be the party’s nominee for president this fall.
Trump has attacked NBC and MSNBC in recent weeks, accusing the network of being a tool for Democrats and suggesting he would crack down on the network if elected president.
