An organization against former President Trump’s second term is starting a significant ad campaign to support former Vice President Pence’s decision not to endorse his previous boss and two-time running mate.
Republican Voters Against Trump, which is supported by the Republican Accountability PAC, is promoting a digital ad and billboard ads to bring attention to Pence’s decision not to support Trump in the upcoming election.
The 15-second digital ad states, “Mike Pence understands Donald Trump better than anyone else. He knows how risky a second Trump administration would be. Mike Pence is prioritizing the country over the party. And we will do the same,” while showing footage of the two men together, along with a clip of Pence stating he won’t endorse Trump.
The ad will run digitally for one week in the battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Billboards featuring Pence’s statement that he won’t be endorsing Trump will be displayed in major cities in the same states, including in Phoenix, Atlanta, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Mich., Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Milwaukee.
Pence, who had an unsuccessful primary campaign against Trump that ended last October, announced last week he would not endorse his previous boss, citing their differences regarding the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, as well as Trump’s stances on abortion, government spending, and banning TikTok.
“I’m extremely proud of the achievements of our administration. It was a conservative record that enhanced America's prosperity, security, and saw conservatives appointed to our courts in a more peaceful world,” Pence commented. “However, during my presidential campaign, I made it clear that there were significant disagreements between me and President Trump on a variety of issues.”
