Matthijs de Ligt has dismissed the idea that he is unhappy at Bayern Munich and states that a transfer in the summer is not being considered despite recent speculation about a move to Manchester United.
The defender, who moved from Turin to Bavaria in 2022 for £65million, only played occasionally at the beginning of this season under JuventusThomas Tuchel and seemed to have been pushed down the list of preferred players due to the arrival of Kim Min-jae. When Germany’s mid-season break arrived, De Ligt had only started two Bundesliga matches because of a knee injury.
This led to speculation about a move to Old Trafford,
with former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag reportedly interested in a reunion , and the rumors intensified after Bayern signed Eric Dier from Tottenham in the January transfer window. However, since the start of the year, De Ligt has been in the starting lineup for nine of Bayern’s last 11 league matches, with one absence due to a suspension.
Recently, Tuchel has been favoring a center-back partnership of De Ligt and Dier, and the Dutch player delivered an especially strong performance against Lazio in the Champions League last 16, even providing an outstanding assist.
Now back in the starting lineup, De Ligt, who was targeted by United, has
no intention of leaving the Allianz Arena , and he maintains that there was little truth to the speculation about him leaving when he was not playing.Voetbal International

‘Certainly, there have been matches that I would have liked to play, but I truly have no reason to complain.
‘I’m still enjoying myself at Bayern Munich and have been playing again recently. I never let rumors affect me because I know what the reality is.’
Regarding reclaiming his spot in the starting XI, he added: ‘I’ve started 10 of the last 12 matches, and I feel like I’m getting stronger and better, which is a great feeling.
‘I began the season with an injury, which is always very frustrating. I needed time to recover and then I also suffered a knee injury.
‘As a result, I missed a lot of matches, and at a club like Bayern Munich, you have to compete with international players.’
The defender had been linked to a reunion with Erik ten Hag.
