Sharon Stone looks back on hosting Saturday Night Live while Dana Carvey apologizes for a controversial skit.

During an appearance on the Fly On The Wall podcast, Dana admitted they would be ‘arrested’ if they did something similar today.
Dana directly apologized to Sharon for the controversial sketch in which he played an Indian man convincing her character to undress for a security check, acknowledging it as a product of 1992 and a different era.
Sharon laughed at Dana's apology, recognizing the change in societal norms and expressing that she was okay with being the butt of the joke at the time.
She also discussed the current hesitancy and barriers in society, suggesting that people have lost the ability to be normal and funny due to spending too much time alone.
Addressing the Indian character, Dana clarified that his comedic intentions were without malice, emphasizing that Sharon's sincerity in the sketch made it funny.
Sharon's hosting debut on SNL had more drama, as she was threatened by people storming the stage during her opening monologue, and had to be protected by SNL creator Lorne Michaels.

'The security that is always present there froze because they had never witnessed anything like that before. They froze and Lorne began yelling, 'What are you doing? Watching the f**king show?' And Lorne started physically attacking them and pulling them back from the stage. The stage manager looked at me and said, 'Wait for five minutes.'
'So all these people were getting physically attacked and arrested in front of me and we went live.'
'I was delivering this live monologue while they were arresting and physically attacking people at my feet,' Sharon added. 'If you think the monologue is scary to start with, try doing it as people are threatening to harm you and they're arresting them in front of you.
'They were upset because it was the beginning of my work as an AIDS activist. Nobody understood at that time what was really happening.
'I honestly lost consciousness for half of the show.'
