Takehiro Tomiyasu and Thomas Partey were both part of Thursday’s private friendly match where a makeshift Arsenal team suffered a 4-0 defeat against QPR.
Japan's Tomiyasu has not played for the Premier League leaders since a 2-1 loss to Fulhman on New Year's Eve.
The versatile defender played four times at the Asia Cup, but got a muscle injury and missed eight consecutive Premier League games, during which Mikel Arteta's team moved to the top of the table.
With a crucial series of matches coming up, starting with a visit to Manchester City right after the international break, Arteta would have been pleased to see Tomiyasu play 45 minutes.
Thomas Partey, who has also struggled with injuries this season, managed to play for an hour but couldn't prevent a young team from losing 4-0 at the TSG Elite Training & Performance Centre.
Tomiyasu recently signed a new long-term contract and is very happy to commit his future to the club he joined two-and-a-half years ago.
He said: 'I am delighted to extend my contract because Arsenal is the greatest club in the world. It's a dream to play for this club, so I'm happy.
'When I'm on the field I feel the love and energy from the fans. We are very connected, so I want to give something back. I am playing for Arsenal, and that means I'm playing for the Arsenal supporters. That's why I dedicate my life to this club and the supporters.
'I want to give them something back. The bond between players and supporters is special, and that makes it more meaningful.'
Sporting Director Edu said: 'We are thrilled to have Tomi with us for more years to come. He has exceptional qualities both on and off the field, and brings a lot of strength and versatility to our squad.
'Tomi is a top professional, and it's fantastic that he will continue to play a crucial role in the next few years as we work towards reaching our goals.'
Arteta added: 'We are very happy to have Tomi commit his future to us.
'Along with his natural ability and strength, Tomi's attitude, mentality, and values are top-notch. Tomi is beloved by everyone and has been a key part of the squad since joining us.'
'The way he trains, with his drive and determination to be the best version of himself every day, is admirable. We look forward to continuing to work with Tomi in the coming years.'
