Two members of British Airways cabin crew have been fired for sharing an offensive racist video on TikTok.
Holly Walton and Lauren Bray made fun of Asian passengers by imitating a Chinese accent and making offensive gestures.
Walton was caught on video saying ‘give me wine’ in a mocking Chinese accent, and then pulling her eyelids. The video was recorded by Bray, who has since disabled her Instagram account.
The two women were reportedly between flights when they filmed the video at Trade Winds hotel in Antigua.
The video was posted with the caption ‘2 weeks in a row with this d***head’.
Angry colleagues stated that the pair were making fun of a Chinese family on the BA2157 flight from London Gatwick who apparently did not speak much English.
An Asian BA colleague said she had been ‘left reeling’ by the video, which had been viewed more than a million times.
Another person said the women were ‘intentionally laughing’ at the family, which ‘sends out the worst message possible’.
Walton was instructed to fly back from a round trip in Cancun, Mexico for a showdown meeting on Monday with BA bosses at the airline’s headquarters, reports The Sun, where the pair were dismissed.
Bray was said to have left the meeting in tears.
A BA crew member said: ‘This recording is offensive. For anyone to have such racist thoughts, to then record them and share it with the world, is shocking and foolish.
‘This is extremely damaging for the airline and they deserved the axe.’
A spokesperson for British Airways said: ‘All forms of racism are completely unacceptable, and we take allegations of this nature very seriously.
‘These two individuals are no longer employed by us.’
