If you don’t view senior living as an opportunity to broaden your perspectives, you haven’t been to White Horse Village. On our campus located in a rural area in Edgmont Township, Delaware County, there are plenty of chances to pursue your interests and explore new hobbies and passions.
Discover your specialized area
“There are many activities to participate in,” resident Mary Hankins mentioned. “You have the option to stay home. However, you are enticed to come out here with all the opportunities available.”
You can acquire the skill of dancing, sculpting, visit museums, restaurants, shopping locations, and cultural events. Engage in various sports, ranging from outdoor games like bocce and shuffleboard to Wii bowling or Wii baseball.
Enroll in classes for ongoing education. Gain knowledge from expert speakers on history and culture. Support social issues that you are passionate about. Cultivate a garden, and more.
We are a community where individuals enjoy utilizing the talents and expertise they have developed over a lifetime for the benefit of everyone. For instance, residents with tech abilities volunteer to assist their neighbors with any questions they may have, from setting up a smart TV to resolving phone issues.
There are numerous other opportunities for participation, such as with the Residents Association and its various community events, like the annual food drive to help local food banks. If you possess a passion or talent, there is a way to utilize it here.
“It’s an extremely active community; that's what we were seeking,” stated Bill Hibschman, who relocated to White Horse Village with his wife, Pat, just over four years ago and has taken pleasure in serving on the Residents Association Council.

Our inviting community is a place to form strong relationships.
“I can’t believe how much this is like the college experience, except that we don’t have class requirements,” said Nancy Hopko, a long-time Villanova University faculty member who relocated here from Bryn Mawr.
No, you’re not worrying about exams, learning dorm rules or trying to find a major that’s a good fit. But you will find a group of peers at a similar stage in life, interacting with each other in a shared space that promotes deep friendships.
“It’s very easy to get involved,” Hopko remarked. “I set foot on this property and felt so at home. I love being in a rural-flavored environment that is still close to Philadelphia.”
Residents can choose from a variety of independent living options based on their preferences, ranging from 500 to 3,200 square feet. The community is spread out with plenty of green areas resembling a small town.
The Clubhouse functions as a central meeting place, a place for people to gather and enjoy cuisine prepared by our skilled dining team, grab a coffee, work in the woodshop or art studio, visit the Wellness Center to accomplish fitness goals, and simply spend time together.
When she and her spouse first came, Mary Hankins remembered: “We strolled around the clubhouse, and everyone was very polite. Everyone smiled and greeted us, even though they hadn’t seen us before.”
Moving to a senior living environment means the opportunity to do more, not less. Let the adventure begin!
