In May, Nate Davis, a guard for the Chicago Bears, spent $2.3 million to buy a five-bedroom, 5,537-square-foot residence in Highland Park.
Davis, who is from Virginia and used to play for the Tennessee Titans, inked a $30 million contract with the Bears for three years in March. He struggled with injuries in his first year with the team, including missing four games later in the season due to a high ankle sprain.
The new property, constructed in 2003 and created by Evanston architect Michael Hershenson, features five bathrooms, three fireplaces, a kitchen with a butler’s pantry, a family room with built-ins and a wall of windows, as well as a wood-paneled study on the first floor. It also includes a four-season sunroom with ravine views, a primary suite with a second office, a private screened porch, dual custom walk-in closets, and heated floors.
The lower level of the house contains a game room, a kitchenette, and a fitness room.
The residence is located on a 1.28-acre property and is reached via a wooded private drive.
Paul Gorney from eXp Realty, who represented Davis, was unavailable for comment.
The property incurred a $52,785 property tax bill in the 2022 tax year.
