POTTSTOWN — A 26-year-old man from Philadelphia is in critical condition after getting shot in the face on North Washington Street near Union Alley on Sunday night, according to police.
According to a statement from Pottstown Police Chief Mick Markovich, police were called to the area around 8:30 p.m. due to a report of shots being fired.
When they arrived, police found multiple shell casings and a small amount of blood.
A press release from Markovich stated, “After several minutes, the Pottstown Police Department received a phone call from Pottstown Hospital informing them that they had a gunshot victim.”
The victim had been shot on the left side of his face, according to the chief.
The victim, who had been staying with family in Pottstown for the last two months, was taken to a trauma center and is currently in critical condition, as mentioned by Markovich.
Pottstown Detectives processed the scene and are actively investigating the shooting.
