Police from the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECSD) seized 30,000 pairs of elephant pants today, valued at around six million baht, from a warehouse in Bang Khun Thian district in Bangkok.
Following a tip, the police conducted a raid at a warehouse on Liab Duan Kanchanapisek Road, where they discovered the garments, believed to have been manufactured overseas.
A police officer stated that the warehouse owner will be asked to come for questioning to determine if import duty was paid for the shipment. If not, the owner could face charges for smuggling.
