Residents of a Lower Bucks County township have been requested to stay indoors on Saturday morning following a report of shootings.
Falls Township police stated on social media around 10:15 a.m. that residents should secure their doors and relocate to a central, safe area away from windows.
Police in Middletown Township, a neighboring township that is home to Sesame Place, reported confirmed shootings in Falls Township and it is unknown if they are targeted or random. Middletown police are monitoring the borders, and as of 10:15 a.m., they said it does not seem that the shooter has entered the township.
U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick from Bucks County posted on Facebook that his office is monitoring a carjacking and a shooting in two sections of Falls Township.
Middletown police advised residents to avoid entering Falls Township until further notice. Residents living near the border with Falls should also shelter in place.
Both Sesame Place and the Oxford Valley Mall have been shut down until further notice.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and other law enforcement are helping with the investigation.
