Kate Beckinsale has asked a cruel troll to stop contacting her after receiving a vile message while in hospital.
The 50-year-old actress, who is in hospital but has not given any details on her current situation, sounded broken as she responded to a horrendous message sent on social media.
After a photo of her cuddling her Pomeranian pet Myf, the follower cruelly messaged Kate saying: ‘Her cat is dead so I guess this dog will do.’
He quickly added: ‘Omg. I didn’t mean to send that to you. Ignore.’
However, Kate pointed out that if that was the case, the person could have simply deleted the message before she opened it rather than sending another.
Sharing a screenshot of the messages on her Instagram Story, she wrote: ‘Both my dads are dead so I guess my mum will do, you could also say.
‘If you really meant for me not to see this you could have deleted it. You chose not to. You wanted me to feel pain. I already do, in many ways.
‘Don’t feel you need to message me again. Please.
Kate’s heart was ‘absolutely and totally broken’ when her iconic cat Clive died in June 2023.
She wrote at the time: ‘I don’t have it in me to make a montage or even look at pictures of him yet.
‘Every single part of my house feels like he should be in it. If anyone is expecting to hear from me, you may not for a bit and I’m sorry.’
Kate and her family recently suffered the loss of her stepdad Roy Battersby, who had been married to her mum Judy since 1997.
‘I fought for you with everything I had. Oh Roy I am so sorry I lost,’ she wrote in tribute.
Battersby was a director, known for working on major British TV productions including Inspector Morse and Cracker, with his most recent work being an episode of A Touch Of Frost eight years ago.
His film credits include Red Mercury and Winter Flight.
The actress has expressed her anger towards Bafta after Roy wasn’t included in the film awards’ in memoriam segment, but it was later confirmed he would be honoured at the TV awards ceremony later in the year.
Judy was previously married to Kate’s father Richard Beckinsale from 1977 until his death two years later.
Fans are concerned after the Underworld actress has shared various hospital photos on Instagram recently, including a post in honour of mum Judy on Mother’s Day.
She recently wrote: ‘Happy birthday and UK Mother’s Day this last week to my incredible mother.’
Kate expressed gratitude for the people who love and support them during difficult times. She also thanked them for taking care of their dogs and helping them remember happy things.
She also mentioned that their friends show up when they are sick, sit with them, send balloons, check in on them, and show them love to help them feel better.
One Instagram follower named Mandy expressed concern for Kate's well-being and asked why she was in the hospital, urging her to get well soon.
Another fan named Paul inquired about the reason for Kate's hospitalization.
A fan named Melody commented on the sweet post for Kate's mother and expressed prayers for Kate's recovery, regardless of what she may be going through.
