Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confessed that he asked Mohamed Salah to do something new for him as a manager on Thursday night.
With Liverpool almost certain to reach the quarter finals of the Europa League after a 5-1 win in the first leg, the Reds only needed to avoid a miracle at Anfield on Thursday night.
However, Klopp chose a strong team including Salah, who made his first start for the club since New Year’s Day.
despite the upcoming match against rivals Manchester United on Sunday for a place in the FA Cup semi-finals.
But, in preparation for the trip to Old Trafford, Klopp made an unusual request by asking Salah ‘not to run’ to prevent injury.
‘He is experienced enough that he could recover during the game,’ said Klopp.
‘I told him not to run; I don’t think I’ve ever told a player to do that before!’
Liverpool scored three in four minutes within the first ten minutes at Anfield to end Prague's very slim hopes of progressing.
Salah scored after goals from Darwin Nunez and Bobby Clark, who scored his first senior goal.
