Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall's highly anticipated rematch is expected to be postponed due to an injury Taylor sustained during training.
Josh Taylor, the former undisputed super-lightweight champion, controversially defeated Catterall in their initial encounter in February 2022.
The rematch, which was scheduled for 27 April in Leeds after a long wait, has now been delayed due to Taylor's injury.
ESPN Reports indicate that the date will be pushed back as a result of Taylor's injury.
There is optimism that a new date will be set for late May.
The two boxers have a fierce and acrimonious rivalry dating back to a contentious night in Glasgow over two years ago when Taylor claimed a split decision victory to retain his four world titles.
The two had numerous confrontations during press conferences at the end of February. Now, fans will have to wait a bit longer for the resolution of their differences.
Following the initial fight, Taylor relinquished his IBF, WBA, and WBC super-lightweight titles. He then lost his remaining world title, the WBO belt, after being defeated by Teofimo Lopez in New York last summer.
Since that eventful night, Catterall has fought twice, securing victories over Darragh Foley and Jorge Linares last year after experiencing the first defeat of his career.
More information will be provided later.
