Bill Maher has agreed to a new deal with HBO that will keep him with the company through 2026.
Under the new agreement, Maher’s show “Real Time” has been extended for two more seasons and will be shown on HBO until 2026 as well as be accessible for streaming on HBO Max, according to the company.
Nina Rosenstein, HBO Programming's Executive Vice President, described Maher, who has been with the network for 22 seasons, as “a uniquely powerful voice in politics and culture.”
“Another two years in the job of a lifetime, on the network so many aspire to be on – I believe that’s an obvious decision,” Maher stated in a release.
Maher headlined his first special on the network in 1989 and consistently makes headlines with his views on politics, policy and current events.
Former President Trump recently attacked criticized Maher after mocking Trump’s visit to the southern border earlier this year, asserting that the commentator suffers from “TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME” and is “not worth viewing.”
