The House is likely to approve a bill on Wednesday that gives an ultimatum to ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok. According to the bill, the company must sell the popular video platform or else face a ban in the U.S.
The bill has support from both sides in the House, and President Biden has stated he would give his approval to the legislation. But it's not certain whether the Senate will pass it.
Former President Trump, who tried to ban TikTok in 2020, has, however, expressed opposition to this bill. Supporters of free speech have also voiced their opposition to a ban.
The voting is expected to happen after 10 a.m. EDT.
