The Criminal Court has summoned Deputy National Police Commissioner Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn to answer allegations of participating in money laundering related to an online gambling business.
The summons follows a request from Deputy Metropolitan Police Commissioner Pol Maj Gen Tinnakorn Rangmart for arrest warrants for five people, including Surachate.
The Court recognized Surachate as a senior officer and therefore decided to summon him to respond to the accusations instead of issuing an arrest warrant. Of the four individuals targeted for warrants, three are also police officers and one is a civilian.
The plea to the Court specified the online betting network as “BNK Master”.
